Rules for Adults . . .

We welcome you into our home. If you are accepted into our program, then we expect two things from you: 1) to abide by the rules of this home. 2) to make a concentrated effort to change, to be teachable, and to help take care of this Home.

All our services are provided to you free of charge; but, there is a catch– we ask that you take part in the work that goes on around the home and property and use your talents and skills for God’s service here while you live here.

All of us who work here, work for no pay. We are here because we love Jesus. God has provided this Home for you while you work to get back on your feet; now, you do have a choice and another chance — success? or failure? — you decide!

FOLLOWING ARE THE RULES OF OUR HOME:
Once you have agreed to them and sign in, you are responsible for obeying these rules, so ask NOW if you don’t understand something.

1. You may absolutely not use alcohol or any other drug at any time and continue to live in this home.

2. We will not tolerate profanity, abusive language, gambling, threats toward others, or any other behavior not appropriate for a Christian Home.

3. If you smoke cigarettes, you must smoke off the property. You may not give cigarettes to those who are under the age of 18 or leave cigarettes laying around on the property because of the children.

4. WE ARE NOT A DATING SERVICE !!! People who live here are not allowed to date other people who live here.  A relationship with someone in crisis is NOT what someone in crisis, themselves, needs.

5. We don't allow rock, country, soul, blues, jazz, or rap music to be played in our homes or on our property. We do encourage the playing of any style Christian or instrumental music and will be happy to help you find the proper radio station or to help you get tapes. All music must be off by bedtime. If you do not obey these rules, your radio/tape /CD player will be taken away and given back to you when you move out.

6. We reserve the right to monitor all types of literature in our homes... WE WILL TAKE AND DESTROY ANY THAT WE FEEL IS UNFIT. Rag magazines, sex magazines, witch craft magazines, romance books, and any literature that we feel is improper for a Christian Home will not be allowed here.

7. No televisions are allowed in the bedrooms. There is a television, VCR, & DVD in the dining hall for your convenience. We do have cable, but all shows played must be family oriented. Nothing will be allowed that is  inappropriate for a Christian home. Hours for TV viewing are 5 pm until 10:30 pm on Monday– Saturday (Sunday 6am until 1:30 pm).

8. Your phone number will be given to you once you move in. The line is local &  restricted with an unlisted number. This phone is for job hunting and for letting your friends and relatives know where to find you. You may not have a pager or cell phone on this property – unless it is required by your employer and, if this is verified, then you still must turn it in to the office while you are on the property.

The guest phone rules are as follows:

     1) 10 minutes per call and a limit of 7 phone calls per day
         (in or out combined)
     2) Take messages and be polite
     3) Absolutely do not give out information on the phone
         about others who live here.
     4) Answer all beep-ins for call waiting.
     5) You must not answer or use the phone after 10 p.m
     6) Never call a minor to the phone without one of the
         Director’s permission.

Breaking any of these rules will result in loss of phone privilege for one week for each violation.

9. Our kitchen is your kitchen... The food is there for you. The kitchen hours are posted. You have access to prepare your own meals during those hours only. Please abide by the following rules:
     1) You must have your food prepared, eaten, and your mess cleaned up before the kitchen closes for that meal.
     2) Always put away all food you take out and clean all utensils (wash, dry, and put them away).
     3) Monday - Friday the Supper meal is prepared for you. You are required to be here for supper unless you are at work. Dishes from this meal are washed by duty-roster people.
     4) Remember this... You are here to save money! You may absolutely not eat out or purchase you own food and bring it here unless you have special permission. When you go to work, take a lunch from home DO NOT BUY OUT!
     5) You may not receive, sign up for, save or spend food stamps while you live here. It is illegal and we will turn you in for fraud.
     6) Snacks may be eaten anytime (a snack is anything from the kitchen that maybe consumed without preparation or dirty dishes).
     7) Don't take food or beverage (except water) into the bedroom area.

10. A washer, dryer, and laundry supplies are provided for you. If you break the laundry rules, you will lose your privilege to do laundry here for one week. Laundry rules are as follows:
     1) Laundry room hours are 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
     2) No shoes or foreign articles in the dryer
     3) You may not leave the property or go to sleep while you are doing laundry. Laundry left unattended will be disposed of.
     4) No one else may be left in charge of your laundry: you must do it yourself.

11. The duty roster is a list of the parts of the house that each person is responsible for. When your name is posted beside a part of the house on the roster, you are responsible for the cleaning and up-keep of that area at all times ! At 10 p.m.. each night, your chore will be checked for total completion. You will receive a circle around your name for chores not done to completion. Three circles in one week will result in dismissal from the program. For each single circle, you will receive an extra chore for the next week. No chore swapping!

12. THIS IS NOT A SHELTER! We have a home-like atmosphere and while you live here, it is your home, too. If you are not at work, your responsibility is to see what you can do to help out around the house before you go running off. Every Saturday is Mandatory Work Day. You are required to work around the house and property unless you are scheduled at your regular place of employment that day. Now, if you work your job on Saturday, then you owe the ministry your day off during the week and you will be given work day projects at that time.

13. If you have children, you are asked to make them behave, be sure they are fed, bathed, and cared for properly. You may not leave your child at our home with any other guest or child to baby-sit them. All children are to be in bedroom areas at by 10 pm getting settled down to sleep.

14. To live here you MUST be willing and able to work a full time job. You have 7 days from the time that you come into our home to find a job. We expect you to be out every day 8 to 5 looking for a job. Once your start working you are required to save your money. On the day of each and every pay check you are required to submit a budget (in writing) to the directors for approval. You will save your money or you will be dismissed from this program.

15. You must be up, dressed, and have your bed made ever morning no later than 7:30 am. You must be inside the fence by 10 PM (11 pm on Saturday). If you are out past then, you will not live here anymore. Lights out for adults is 11 pm (12 midnight on Saturday). There will be no lying around in the beds during the day  (except on Sunday afternoon). Everyone will help out if they are not at work. Exceptions must be made by the Directors only!

16. Personal cleanliness is a must- take a bath everyday, keep your hair and laundry clean, keep things picked up and clean in your dorm area, keep your personal items out of the bathroom and clean the tub after you have finished using it. No showers or baths after 10 PM. IF YOU DECIDE TO MOVE OUT, TAKE YOUR THINGS WITH YOU RIGHT THEN. WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR POSSESSIONS IF YOU LEAVE THEM HERE.
